Hello everyone,
Thanks for your good wishes. I just couldn't fix my mind to crafting at all. Still not sure if one hundred percent yet - Dad waiting for further results, Mum getting more Lucentis eye injections (even the thought of that makes me squirm, I don't know how she does it, today is her 7th! )
I'm a wee bit stressed and missing hubby more just now than usual. Not sure why, as he's worked away 3/4 days a week for 11 years now. Should be used to it by now, ha ha.
Anyway, you're here for the crafting not the moaning! (But thanks for listening :-D )
Here is the result of a wee play with some SECC goodies.
I used brown card from my stash as was the Kraft card. I cut a frame using my new Labels 20 Nestabilities as well as the main sentiment piece. I also used my Persian

If it helps any at all Alison, a lot of us understand completely how you feel, so you really aren't alone. We lost both my father and my husband's father from cancer in 2000. They were both ill at the same time, and died within two months of each other. We spent a year traveling back and forth between the two of them, a distance of 360 miles. Right after that, my husband's mother came down with cancer and it was a three year battle. My mother is 82, and an alcoholic. She is a functioning alcoholic, but after 4 pm every night, she is completely drunk, which is a huge worry for us.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind reading your trials at all, it helps to vent, and it reminds me that I'm not alone either. There are so many of us with the same worries.
Anyway, I love your card and the sentiment is great! I liked it so much I pinned it to my card sentiments page on Pinterest. (I'm 60, so it hits close to home). :-)
About the Liquid Pearls, most of mine are really messed up, I was just lucky with this card. A lot of times, I get them too close together and they moosh into a big lump! :-)
Hello Alison, good to have you back but sorry life is a bit difficult just now and no wonder your missing your husband just at this time. He's your main support when family is concerned.
ReplyDeleteHow brave of your mum I squirm just putting eye drops in.
We all need to sound off to friends sometimes so you go ahead.
Now to your card, it's gorgeous and I love the colours. Will be lovely card for someone.
Have a gentle day and be good to yourself, Kate x

ReplyDeleteAs for your card, it's lovely, we have that sentiment too. We really need to play with our Nesties more, they tend to sit forgotten and unused in the pile of neglected stash!
Alison your card is fabulous. Love your dies. Sorry you are having such a bad time - hopefully things will improve soon.
ReplyDeleteYeay! Glad to see you back with us in the land of Blogging. Sorry to hear your Mum and Dad are having a rough time of it though. I know how it feels to have your Man working away, mine works night shifts so I get to see him half hour morning and evening and then I am on my own. Sending you a hug.
ReplyDeleteAnd your card is wonderful. The colours and the sentiment are just lovely. Funny how we both chose Friends as our themes today.
Hugs

ReplyDeleteOh honey, big hugs. Of course you want your hubster for the hugs - you need them! I hope things get better.
ReplyDeleteI love your card - the kraft with brown is so fab and love how you layered it!
Hi Alison, Hope things work out ok for your folks. This is a toughie, when you're playing caretaker to your parents, but alas, it's a fact of life. Thanks for your sweet comment about the DH...he had a Pancreas CT scan, which is a bit worrisome. It's hard to feel like crafting when so many tests to get done, wait on results...And you can vent anytime you feel like doing so, your readers all understand I'm sure! And can say a prayer...I DO belive in the power of prayer. Your card is just lovely. I'm liking that new S/B die, a new one to me as yet. You used it so effectively, and using the Persian border really set your central motif off wonderfully. TFS & giving me some good ideas about design! Hugs
ReplyDeleteBug hugs, Alison!!! It's so much harder to "bear up" with difficulties when the husband is away. Being a soldier's wife, I understand that! Be strong, it will all work out, you'll see!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely card! I love that Nestie set and it's been on my wish list for a while. So many lovely toys to covet, lol! Keep crafting, it makes this better and will give you something good to focus on.
Super card - my hair is WELL grey these days. LOL
ReplyDeleteLOVE your card, that sentiment is fabulous! Hopethings improve for you on the home front! Thanks for visiting me today, waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥
ReplyDeleteGreat sentiment and I love the browns. Hopefully things will smooth out a bit soon, things do seem to bunch together and so stressful. Sending hugs. xx Flora
ReplyDeleteFab card and the sentiment is special...take care hugs, annie
ReplyDeleteLove that Persian Accents border! Hmm, I think it will have to go on my "need" list :)
