WOYWW

Hello everyone,
I hope you and yours are safe and warm.
Not bad here, almost drying weather outside.
Busy day yesterday, Mum had an eye appointment and we went to the Art Galleries to see the British Museum Egypt Exhibition before it closed and went for lunch.  Then had a wander round the ground floor together before the hospital. She was in there over 2 hours, we were in some nick when we finally got out - both of us all seized up after 2 hours round the Galleries, then 2 hours sitting about the hospital.  We were holding each other up! !
Anyway onto the desk. This was taken Tuesday night after the hospital.
I have had this Tando Creative wreath for a few years and now I'm crafting again I'm determined to use up stuff that I've had for ages. Hence the freebie Christmas paper from I don't know when, but Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine. Ribbons are from stash.
In case you're wondering why I'm displaying a messy desk please go to Julia's blog at The Stamping Ground where you'll see all the other crafters displaying their mess.
Please join in, it's great fun.

  2. It's so much fun seeing your desk Alison. Sounds like you had a great time at the museum. It's funny how on the internet you talk to people every day who live in places you can only dream of visiting. If only someone would invent a way to email ourselves anywhere the world and back whenever we wanted!

    1. I used to spend whole days with the kids going between the Galleries and the old Transport Museum when it was across the road.
We would do one, and either picnic in park or lunch in the cafe then the other.
Two hours is my max now.

  11. Hi Alison!
I wish I could have gone with you and your mum to the Egyptian exhibit. I missed a similar one here in Boston and am still kicking myself for it.
Sounds like you two had one busy day. I hope your mum is well.

That is great that you can pull out and use up stuff you have been hanging on to for a while. I have some old projects that really need to get done. I am thinking an upcoming crop with my girlfriends just might be the time to pull that off!

    Have a blessed day!

  12. Hi Alison, yesterday sounds like quite a day and I just know how you felt after a couple of hours sitting around waiting - guaranteed to make the old bones seize up! I notice that you 'write' the names of the DIs on the back of the cut n' dry too. I struggle with the writing and then often struggle again to read what I've written on the back of each piece - still it is better than having to wash after each and every use. Oh, and I should take a leaf out of your book and work on some poor forgotten projects ... maybe next week :) Happy WOYWW. Elizabeth x #58

  13. Hi Alison, do hope your Mom is ok. The museum sounds like fun. I have been to a couple LARGE ones and still cannot get enough of them. I love the painters, guess it is all the art history I took. Your desk looks challengeing this week. I too have things on mine that have been laying around for a couple of years.

I must be a bit dim because when I came over to your desk yesterday the followers bit was not visible at all, never mind I am there for you now.

  18. Just hopped back to say I saw your comment on my blog. LOL those are wine coolers and they hold about 30 bottle each. I belong to a wine club so the wine comes every 6 months. I like my wine, but can not drink it THAT fast, so I keep it stored. LOL

  22. I agree we all need to use up a lot of the stashed back stuff. THat is my goal for the year that I have already broken several times. I have been to the Eqyptian room several times and see a lot of new every time I go through the museum. Not bad for an old girl that lives in Oklahoma! I was kind of angry with a group of Asian visitors one time allowing their children to crawl all over the Rosetta stone and when I went this last time it was roped off! Happy dance. I don't think people realize how important these things are. Okay enough grousing. Have a great week. Vickie #28

  27. Lucky you to be able to see the Egyptian exhibit! YOu've some beautiful papers displayed on your oh-so-neat desk. I admire you for using up your stash. You'll be an inspiration to me, to do the same, not just keep buying more (usually cause I can't find something I know I have, need it then, can't find it!). TFSharing your desk today & your outing. Hope the eye appt went well for your Mom too.

  28. Well done on getting on with your Christmas wreath remember to put it somewhere that you can find
It before the big day ! I'm quite envious of your trip to the Egyptian exhibit. I used to go to a lot of galleries but have sorely lapsed in recent times. They're a great source of inspiration. Thank you so much for visiting me and leaving nice comments. Thanks also for leaving a nice comment about my son i will pass it on as I know it will mean a lot to him . Have a lovely day x

  29. Two hours round a museum and then two hours in a hospital would have finished me off. Half an hour of standing at the funeral today and I was totally seized up. Hope the hospital appointment went well. Thank you for your visit and have a good week. xx Maggie #42
