Christmas in February

Hello everyone,
Another dull and dreich day here in Glasgow.
Hello and welcome to my new followers. I hope you enjoy what I show you. ( especially Ria!!)
On Wednesday for my WOYWW post I showed the beginning of a Christmas wreath that I've had for ever it seems.
My plan was to cover the pieces in freebie Christmas paper from ages ago. I tried and the glue didn't stick (it fell off on Thursday! )
So I decided to colour the pieces with Distress Inks and I tore up one sheet of paper and decoupaged the main circle of the wreath.
I used Glossy Accents to stick the pieces on then coloured a piece of card with the same Distress Inks and added a sentiment.
I'm not sure if I'm completely done with it. I think some glitter or snow may be added later. What do you think?

  1. Hi Alison
I think you have done a totally amazing job on this. There has been so much work gone in to it and I love the colours you have used. I am not one for the traditional colours for Christmas but it does takes a brave person to break away from them.
I think that yes maybe some glitter or snow might take it to the next stage but remember less is more.
This is a fantastic project I love it

  4. You should be glad the papers didn't stick Alison, because this is so much prettier this way. I love your colors and the shading. It looks very artistic! Glitter might be pretty on the stars and circles, and would give contrast, but it's so pretty this way that it doesn't need anything more!

  15. Hi Alison. I just had to pop over and thank you for your lovely comments. You did make me laugh. I missed the second Sheena show when she demoed my Magnolia card as we were out but so many people have mentioned it that I was sad to miss it. It's always an honour when she picks out or mentions a card. We are a small DT and there are far more talented ladies on it than me. I still can't get over the fact that Sheena asked me to be on it in the first place!!
Anyway, I'm glad I did stop by otherwise I'd have missed your beautiful wreath, with half term I haven't done much blogging this week. It's gorgeous and has a great vintage feel. I wouldn't add anything, it's perfect as it is. It's just a shame you have to wait so long to display it!!
Hope you are enjoying the weekend.
    hugs Lisax
